Local Fiat dealer wants £100 to diagnose the keyfob - which feels a little excessive as that won't necessarily fix it - just tell us what's wrong. Someone suggested it needs re-coding but the Fiat dealer says that's not the issue and they can't be de-coded or re-coded on Ducato's ???

Recently I purchased a '06 Ducato van and the ignition has been changed out with a starter switch and push ignition start button. Key for the barrel still needed for the steering lock. I'm not sure at all what they've done to it electronically.. Obviously before purchase I did a Is It Stolen check and believe they genuinely lost the key.
